"Seattle Mongolian Youth Center'' partnered with the City of Shoreline's Covid-19 Emergency Community Response program in the fight to stop the spread of Covid-19. One way to effectively handle this crisis is if everyone wears PPE such as a face mask to protect themselves and others. Most importantly, we needed to educate our children on this matter. Often our kids have been asking us why they need to wear face masks even when they are not sick, and what are the benefits of using it. Our staff and volunteers also created a short video story on why we all need to wear face masks, instructions on how to make DIY face masks at home with their design. We made and donated 800 pieces of children's and adult’s washable, cotton, and reusable masks for Shoreline families in neighborhoods, home daycare centers, food banks, and other NPOs. Our organization has received many thanks from those who received masks for providing masks during a time of shortage. Our educational videos were successful and have gotten over 1000 views for each post on our Facebook page.
Thank you to those who have participated in sewing masks, distributing, creating educational videos and tutorials. Please check out the link below for our educational videos.
